Words to Live by. God has a season for all of us.

YA BAKİ ENTEL BAKİ

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to Judge
things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and
look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in
the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest
son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe
what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and
twisted. The second son said no–it was covered with green buds and full
of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms
that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful
thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said

Black Friday or Broke Friday?

15 Nov

Don’t Hate!! Donate!! Give to the Needy! Not the Greedy!!

Stephen as Autism Warrior!!

In the USA we have something called Black Friday which is the Friday after Thanksgiving when Americans give into their greed and bombard the department stores and shopping malls in search of discounts and sales on Christmas gifts. This is one of these Holiday traditions that I wish would go by the wayside as it has nothing to do with Jesus or Christianity.  I could go into how I loathe and despise how Christmas has become commercialized but I’ll leave that for another blog post.

I choose Autism Activism over fear of D.T.  I’ll refer to him as Delirium Tremors, mostly because one night while in the Army I had CQ Duty (CQ is Charge of Quarters) and I received a phone call alerting me that one guy in our unit had the D.T.s Delirium Tremors and that he was being taken to the hospital. Seun Kuti, son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, films video for his song “Black Woman” with cast of Afro-Brazilian women in Rio and Porto Alegre

All Hail the Beauty of Black Women!!

Black Women of Brazil

Note from BW of Brazil: In a post from November of 2013, BW of Brazil presented an article about an homage to the late, great Nigerian Afrobeat musician Fela Kuti. The Afro Brasil Museum in  São Paulo presented an exhibition featured the album cover art of some of the musicians greatest albums. The homage demonstrated how the musician’s following and influence has grown over the past decade or so within the Afro-Brazilian community. Add to this the fact that a percentage of the Africans brought to Brazil during the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade were of Nigerian origin and the fact that some Brazilians in the state of Bahia still speak the Yoruba language and practitioners of Afro-Brazilian religion Candomblé worship the Yoruba orixá (deity) to which they sing and make incantations in Yoruba during worship sessions and one could say that there is a spiritual connection between Nigeria and Black Brazil.

Stick To Your Principles (And Never Apologize)

We cannot desert the LGBT community or any community in crisis and call ourselves Believers!! We must make a stand for Love not hate!

Dwarren57's Blog

I have declined from writing posts about this presidential election. My main reason is that I live in an area full of residents who practically worship our newly elected president. It has been almost five years since I came out as a gay man. After that, I never wanted to imagine that an elected official would try to overturn the successful efforts to say that the government cannot restrict me from my ultimate desire to marry someone who I love.

The United States of America has elected a man who has promised that he will overturn the landmark decision which ruled the Defense of Marriage Act Unconstitutional and pass a “religious freedom protection” act. I am in no mood to read article after article confirming those are indeed his intentions. Numerous social media posts have attempted to dismiss that our newly elected commander in chief could successfully roll back LGBT…
